Taking a gorilla safari must be one of the most truly awesome activities in all wildlife activities - to sit with a full grown male silverback gorilla in the wild surrounded by his family you are able to watch youngsters at play and mothers tending their infants for about an hour.  This hour can cost you up to 4 hours trekking through the forest to find them though it can be anything from a short to a long trek you do not need to be super fit only be prepared to be on your feet walking for that length of time or as some of us have experienced be prepared to crawl on your hands and knees through dense vegetation for some of it.

Tracking gorillas is possible in Uganda and Rwanda, both of which are safe destinations to visit.  The difference between the two destinations is not such that you should choose one or the other that will in many ways be decided by the availability of permits.  Please do note the permits to visit the gorillas are not cheap but the are worth every cent of their price.

Do give us a call on 01255 446250 and one of us will be very happy to discuss an itinerary with you.  We have experience of trekking for gorillas on a few occasions over the years and will be very happy to share the information with you.  Alternatively send us an email with your requirements and we will get back to you with a recommended itinerary and price
